Channels No Longer Available Roku

Why Are Some Roku Channels No Longer Available?

By using the Roku Channel Store or by entering a content provider’s access code into your online Roku account, you can add channels to your Roku streaming player device or Roku TV.

If however you find that the channel is no longer available in the Roku Store or the access code no longer works, this may be because the channel may no longer be available on Roku platforms.

What About Subscription Channels?

For content that was purchased or subscribed to that is no longer available, you can contact the content provider for further information.

Why Do Channels No Longer Work?

Roku aims to provide users with the widest range of incredible entertainment by offering thousands of streaming channels through the Roku Channel Store.

There may be times however that content providers decide to their remove channels from our platform for various reasons of their own.

In some instances, a channel might be removed by us if it violates our terms and conditions.

We take unlawful activity such as piracy very seriously and therefore, if a channel is deemed to be in breach, it will be removed from our service.

For more information, you can review Roku’s terms and conditions or contact the channel developer directly.

How to Find Similar Content

There’s thousands of channels available on the Roku Channel Store, so there’s something for everyone.

To find similar content to the channel that was removed, you can browse from a selection of featured, most watched, or top free channels.

Alternatively, you can look through your favourite categories to find a channel of your choice:

So even though you may have lost your favourite channel, there’s always another one ready to take its place!

How to Factory Reset a MAG 324 Set Top Box

In this article, we take you through the step-by-step process of restoring a MAG 324 set-top box back to it’s factory default settings.

Before proceeding, it highly recommended that your box is easily accessible as the main reset hole is located on the left hand side of the box.

The reset hole is small, so will require the use of a paper clip (or similar) with one of the ends bent outwards to aid pressing and holding the button. Do not use any sharp objects such as pins or needles, as this could damage the reset button.

You will also need to have the box plugged in, powered up and connected to your TV whilst switched on.

Lastly, make sure you have your remote to hand as this is required to configure the box after the reset has completed.

Unsuccessful?

In some instances, your MAG box may not display the “Portals”option under the “Servers”menu after hard resetting, thus preventing you from entering and saving your desired “Portal URL” details.

This is sometimes caused by counterfeit boxes that appear to be genuine MAG boxes, which are not “flashable” and do not accept firmware upgrades.

If this is the case, it is highly likely you will need to replace your box with a genuine OEM Infomir MAG box.

How to Watch Sky Go in USA

How to Watch Sky Go in USA

Whether you’re a British expat or just a fan of UK television, you can watch Sky Go in USA if you have a suitable UK-based VPN at your fingertips.

Without a VPN (Virtual Private Network) utilising a United Kingdom IP (Internet Protocol) address, you’re not going to have much success.

The fact is, any attempts to watch Sky Go in USA will fail and your access to their content will be blocked.

In this article, we’re going to explain in simple terms how you can access Sky TV content in the United States, along with tons of other terrestrial and premium UK TV channels.

What is Sky Go?

Sky Go Compatible Devices

Sky Go is Sky television’s online TV streaming service, which is bundled as part of a standard Sky satellite television subscription.

It’s available to all existing Sky TV customers as a means to watch subscription content on mobile devices such as tablets and phones, as well as desktop and laptop computers.

Sky Go contains live and on-demand content.

Depending on your subscription, you can gain access to a wide range of live TV channels using Sky Go ranging from entertainment, sports, movies, news, documentaries and more.

There’s over 30 live streaming channels on Sky Go, including:

  • Sky Atlantic
  • Sky One
  • Sky Living
  • Sky Arts
  • Fox
  • Gold
  • ITV Encore
  • Comedy Central
  • MTV
  • Discovery Channel
  • Nat Geo Wild
  • ABC
  • Sky Cinema Premiere
  • Sky Cinema Disney
  • Sky Cinema Hits
  • Sky Cinema Family
  • Sky Cinema Action & Adventure
  • Sky Cinema Comedy
  • Sky Cinema Crime & Thriller
  • Sky Cinema Drama & Romance
  • Sky Cinema Sci-Fi & Horror
  • Sky Cinema Select
  • Sky Cinema Themed Channel
  • Sky Sports Mix
  • Sky Sports Main Event
  • Sky Sports Premier League
  • Sky Sports Football
  • Sky Sports Cricket
  • Sky Sports Golf
  • Sky Sports F1
  • Sky Sports Action
  • Sky Sports Arena
  • Sky Sports News

There’s also a huge library of on-demand movies, sports, entertainment shows and more.

Sky Go is jammed packed with entertainment, so it’s no wonder Brits want to be able to watch it wherever they are.

The problem is, Sky Go is blocked if accessed anywhere outside the UK and Ireland.

So even if you are a fully paid up Sky subscriber, you still can’t watch it overseas.

But if you use a UK-based VPN, you can bypass geo-blocking restrictions and watch Sky Go in the USA or anywhere else worldwide for that matter!

So what is a VPN and where can you get one?

Read on and find out more…

What is a VPN?

VPN Diagram

The term VPN stands for Virtual Private Network.

Without getting too technical as it’s not entirely necessary here, a VPN is the single best way of unblocking Sky TV content online.

By using a UK-based VPN, any devices you use that are connected to the VPN will be assigned a UK IP address.

In doing so, your devices will appear to be using the internet from inside the United Kingdom.

As a consequence, this will allow you to access Sky Go and watch Sky TV content online as their system will see you as based in the UK.

It really is that simple.

And as a bonus, most reputable VPNs use secure encryption, meaning your internet usage is private and secured.

So as well as gaining access to UK TV content, you also have peace of mind that you are surfing anonymously and securely.

How Do I Choose a VPN Provider?

Speed Test

There’s a wide range of different service providers offering VPNs.

Some well known, whilst others less so.

It’s worth baring in mind when purchasing a VPN subscription that buying the most well known provider is not always the best decision. And here’s why.

Most broadcasters are very much aware you can access Sky Go in USA and other overseas countries using a VPN.

In an attempt to preventing their customers from gaining overseas access to Sky Go content, their technicians identifying IP ranges of various VPN providers which they block.

So you could be in a situation where you start paying a subscription to a VPN provider, only to find you are still blocked!

In this instance, it’s quite clear that following the herd is not necessarily a good idea.

If you want to watch your Sky Go account abroad without disappointment or interruptions, then find a lesser known vendor.

By doing so, your VPN provider is far less likely to have been identified as a way to watch their content overseas, meaning you get uninterrupted access to your Sky Go account on your travels or stay overseas.

Seeing you’re paying for that subscription, it only seems fair to be able to watch it whilst overseas, right?

Who’s The Best VPN Provider?

UKTV2GO Large Logo

Like any service provider, there’s varying opinions about different VPN software providers.

The most commonly used VPN software vendors to watch Sky Go abroad is ExpressVPN, Surfshark and PureVPN.

Each of these services are priced from around £9.99 per month upwards, for a single VPN connection.

So this means that you can only use one device at any given time through their VPN.

That’s not ideal if you want to access UK TV content on multiple devices around your home.

Remember, a VPN doesn’t just unlock Sky Go content.

It also enables you to access online TV content via BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, All4, My5 and of course other UK-based online services.

So why would you want to be restricted to using just one device if several people in your home want to enjoy UK TV abroad?

Surely there must be a better alternative?

Thankfully there is!

Why VPN Routers Are Best!

Devices Connected to VPN Router

If like most ex-pats with large households who all want to access UK TV content abroad on multiple devices, there’s only one solution.

And that’s to use a VPN router in your home.

By doing so, you create a dedicated WiFi network in your home that passes all traffic through the VPN – not just a single device.

So all of a sudden, you could have one person watching Sky Go on their iPad, whilst your Smart TV could be connected to Now TV and your laptop is watching BBC iPlayer – all at the same time!

Now that’s what you call an incredibly flexible solution.

Practically every device in your home could behave like it is using the internet in the United Kingdom and access content via apps and websites that you could not normally use in the USA.

Just imagine…

Now you can watch content on the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Five websites.

You can once again use Now TV on your television, a Roku device or Now TV set top box or smart stick.

You could even hook up your games consoles to the VPN and use apps there as well.

Access UK-only content on services like Netflix and Disney+.

So it’s clear, that if you’re serious about watching Sky Go in the USA or any other UK-based content abroad, a VPN router is the only way to go.

How to Watch Sky TV in Canada

How to Watch Sky TV in Canada

Whether you’re a British expat or just a fan of UK television, you can watch Sky TV in Canada if you have a UK-based VPN at your fingertips and a suitable device.

Without a VPN (Virtual Private Network) utilising a United Kingdom IP (Internet Protocol) address, you’re not going to have much success.

The fact is, any attempts to watch Sky TV in Canada will fail and your access to their content will be blocked.

In this article, we’re going to explain in simple terms how you can access Sky TV content in Canada, along with lots of other terrestrial and premium UK TV channels.

Now TV

Now TV is a contract free subscription based service, owned and operated by Sky.

Instead of paying a monthly fee like you would with a satellite or cable TV subscription, Now TV is a pay-as-you-go service using passes.

This type of subscription is very flxuble and means you only pay for what you want to watch.

Just like regular Sky, you can access all of their movies, sports and entertainment channels by acquiring their monthly passes on the internet.

You simply register an account with Now TV on their website (using a UK-based credit card).

Then you can purchase as many passes as necessary when you want to watch Sky TV in Canada.

Then you use one of the many wonderful Now TV devices, apps or online services to watch the content live or on-demand. Devices include:

Now TV Streaming Stick

Now TV Streaming Stick

If you want a very small solution that is portable and takes up no room at all, the Now TV Smart Sticks (shown above) are the ideal solution.

They offer exactly the same powerful features as the set top boxes but in a compact design.

The newer models have voice controlled remotes, which are highly impressive.

The streaming stick connects straight into a spare HDMI port on your TV.

And subsequently connects to your home WiFi broadband to stream the content.

The streaming sticks are plug ‘n’ play, so are very quick and basic to set up.

Normally, content on Now TV sticks is blocked is viewed outside the UK.

However, if used in conjunction with a UK VPN, you can watch Sky TV in Canada using a Now TV stick.

Roku Devices

A great alternative to a Now TV stick is the range of Roku devices currently available on the market.

In fact, you’ll find that Roku’s are surprisingly similar to using a Now TV device, since all Now TV devices are actually powered by Roku.

So essentially, they are one and the same thing.

Roku’s are great because they effectively turn your TV into the ultimate smart television.

These superb little gadgets are crammed packed with apps including BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, All 4, My5 ad most importantly Now TV.

They also include other apps like Prime Video, Netflix, Rakuten, YouTube and so many more.

This makes the Roku’s a very powerful choice for anyone wishing to watch UK TV in Canada, as they offer a full range of terrestrial and subscription based content, live and on-demand.

Combine one of these super little gadgets with a UK VPN and you’ll be able to unlock as much UK TV content as you like.

The problem is, Sky Go is blocked if accessed anywhere outside the UK and Ireland.

So even if you are a fully paid up Sky subscriber, you still can’t watch it overseas.

But if you use a UK-based VPN, you can bypass geo-blocking restrictions and watch Sky Go in Canada or anywhere else worldwide for that matter!

Most broadcasters are very much aware you can access Sky TV in Canada and other overseas countries using a VPN.

In an attempt to preventing their customers from gaining overseas access to Sky TV content, their technicians identifying IP ranges of various VPN providers which they block.

So you could be in a situation where you start paying a subscription to a VPN provider, only to find you are still blocked!

In this instance, it’s quite clear that following the herd is not necessarily a good idea.

If you want to watch your Sky TV account abroad without disappointment or interruptions, then find a lesser known vendor.

The most commonly used VPN software vendors to watch Sky TV abroad is ExpressVPN, Surfshark and PureVPN.

Each of these services are priced from around £9.99 per month upwards, for a single VPN connection.

However, a large number of these well known VPN providers are blocked by UK TV sites.

So this means that you can only use one device at any given time through their VPN.

That’s not ideal if you want to access UK TV content on multiple devices around your home.

Remember, a VPN doesn’t just unlock Sky TV content.

It also enables you to access online TV content via BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, All4, My5 and of course other UK-based online services.

So why would you want to be restricted to using just one device if several people in your home want to enjoy UK TV abroad?

Surely there must be a better alternative?

Fix Slow Loading Frozen Pictures MAG Set Top Box

How to Fix Slow Loading or Frozen Pictures on MAG 250/254/322/410 Set Top Boxes

If you own an IPTV set top box such as the popular MAG 250, MAG 254, MAG 322 or the MAG 410, you may be one of the users who frequently experiences picture freezing or slow channel loading.

It’s a nuisance as it can spoil your television entertainment viewing pleasure and if persistent, makes watching TV shows and movies practically impossible.

Constant freezing and slow loading breaks up the show and you end up switching off.

But don’t give up as there’s usually a few simple check you can do to resolve this problem, and get your MAG box working to optimum performance and view shows with seamless streaming and zero freezing.

MAG 322 Set Top Box

In this article, we’re going to take you through all the necessary steps required to fully diagnose why your MAG box is freezing and what you can do to rectify the problem.

Read on to find out how to fix this issue or choose from one of the following chapters that’s suits your needs.

Check Your Internet Speed

Speedtest by Ookla

In many cases, slow loading, constant channel buffering or freezing is caused by a poor quality or slow intent connection speed.

So it’s recommended that you check the internet connection in your home first to make sure you have sufficient bandwidth to stream live IPTV pictures to your MAG box.

If you don’t, there’s no point in running any further diagnostics on your MAG box if your broadband is simply unsuitable for streaming.

So firstly, if you have a desktop PC or Mac connected to your home Wi-Fi network or directly via ethernet, use an online speed check tool such as Speedtest.net

If you only have mobile devices such as a phone or tablet, then download and install a suitable app to your device such as the SpeedTest app by Ookla.

Once you are ready to run a speed test on a desktop PC or Mac, laptop or mobile device, let’s get started.

Run the test and see what the resulting report tells you.

Ideally, you need a “Download Speed” of at least 2-4 Mbps, but in an ideal world, we would recommend a download speed of 5 Mbps or above to be able to stream pictures smoothly and without interruption.

If the results of your speed test are poor, we recommend that you speak to your internet service provider about improving your broadband connection or alternatively, upgrade to a better package or change broadband provider altogether.

If however your internet connection speed seems to be good, let’s move on to the next step.

Reduce Wi-Fi Interference

Wi-Fi Interference

Many people do not realise that Wi-Fi is transmitted over simple radio frequencies.

These frequencies are very susceptible to interference, especially if there are lots of other Wi-Fi signals in close proximity that may be running on the same frequency or frequencies close to yours.

People who live in apartment blocks for example, tend to suffer from Wi-Fi signal interference very often.

With dozens of neighbours all running their own personal Wi-Fi networks, you could potentially be living in a sea of Wi-Fi networks all battling with each other for signals clarity.

So it’s no surprise that signal interference can be a real nuisance.

Thankfully, there’s a few things you can try to improve your situation.

Change Wi-Fi Channel

Netgear Change Wi-Fi Channel

If you have direct administrator access to your Wi-Fi router, you can change the Wi-fi channel your network uses.

By doing so, you could select a channel that experience far less interference and get a better quality signal to your MAG box.

Most Wi-Fi routers allow admin access via a browser.

If you are unsure how to do this, check with your router manufacturers user manual and follow the instructions.

Switching Wi-Fi channels is actually a lot easier than it sounds and may help improve Wi-Fi speeds in your home.

You may have to experiment with a few new channels to see which works best.

Many Wi-Fi admin system actually show you the local interference, so should give you a good idea of which channel to switch to.

But in many cases, most Wi-Fi routers automatically select the best channel to use so this may not resolve your buffering problems.

Upgrade Your Wi-Fi Router

TP-Link TL-WR940N

If your Wi-Fi router is an older model, it may not be up to the job.

Older models tend to transmit at slower rates whilst newer models offer far better strength signals using transmission rates of around 450Mbps or above.

Newer models will feature more antennas to help produce a stronger signal, whilst older models may only have a single transmitter that struggles to do the job.

If you suspect your Wi-Fi router may be obsolete, it might be time to trade it in for a newer model.

Change Wi-Fi Antenna

External USB Wi-FI Antenna

If you’re totally convinced that your home Wi-Fi network is stable and solid, then the issues may be with the Wi-Fi antenna used by the MAG box.

Many models of MAG box come with an integrated internal Wi-Fi antenna and the quality of these antennas is not particularly great.

Even in a home with reasonably strong Wi-Fi radio coming from the router, any degradation in the signal to noise ratio can cause some MAG boxes to struggle to get a good enough streaming signal and thus, leads to stuttering images, loops in playback or worse, no picture at all!

If that’s the case, you may be better off purchasing an external USB Wi-Fi antenna to supplement the existing internal antenna to help improve Wi-Fi signal reception.

But in truth, the most foolproof connection is a direct ethernet cable, discussed in a later chapter.

If you’re already using an enternal USB Wi-Fi antenna, then there are a few checks you can run.

Firstly, make sure it’s seated correctly and fully into the USB port either at the front or rear of your MAG box.

Also, ensure the dongle is compatible with your Wi-Fi network speed and radio frequencies.

If it’s an older Wi-Fi dongle, it might be wise to upgrade it to a better model that can handle a wider range of Wi-Fi signals and speeds.

Any incompatibilities will undoubtedly cause lag.

Switch to an Ethernet Connection

MAG Box Rear Panel

If you want to completely eliminate issues with a poor Wi-Fi router or signal interference whilst dramatically improving network speeds, then a direct ethernet connection is the best solution by far.

There’s no compensation for good old fashioned cables when it comes to a solid, fast and reliable network connection.

Wi-Fi may be very convenient when using mobile devices but for set top boxes like the MAG 250, 254, 322 or 410, it’s just going to sit on your media centre.

So why use a Wi-Fi connection when a direct ethernet connection will be far more reliable, faster and not suffer from any interference?

If you have any doubts about the quality of your home Wi-Fi network, we recommend switching to ethernet to completely eliminate these concerns.

Ethernet is far more stable and reliable than any kind of Wi-Fi connection – period.

Many people do not like trailing cables around their home, but if you want the very best performance from your MAG box, use ethernet!

Here’s what you need to do…

Firstly, you’ll need a good quality RJ45 cable that is long enough to run from the back of your MAG box to your Wi-Fi router.

The closer the router is to the MAG box, the better as this will mean shorter cables and less mess.

Your first step is to connect one end of the RJ45 cable to the rear Ethernet port at the back of your MAG set top box.

Then connect the other end of the cable to a spare Ethernet port on the back of the router.

Once connected at both ends, switch on your TV set and the MAG set top box.

Wait for the MAG box to fully boot and then, go to the Home screen and carry out the following steps:

  • press the left arrow button on your remote control, scroll across to “Settings” and press “OK”
  • then press the down arrow button on your remote to highlight “Network” and press “OK”
  • on the next screen select “Wired (Ethernet)” and press “OK”
  • the select “Auto (DHCP)” and press “OK”

Once you’ve complete these steps, restart your MAG set top box for the changes to fully take effect.

After your MAG box has fully rebooted, try watching a channel which had previously been susceptible to freezing or slow loading and see if the situation has improved.

In most cases, changing to an ethernet connection should show a marked improvement.

If not, there could be a few other outstanding issues to resolve.

Use Ethernet Powerline Adapters

Powerline Ethernet Adapters

If your router is just too far away from the MAG box, and having ethernet cables running across your room is simply not an option, there’s a very good alternative.

Ethernet powerline adapters are a quick and easy way of having a “wired” connection without the wires!

Two little boxes plug straight into your power outlets and use your existing electrical system to transmit the signal just like a regular wired ethernet router would.

One powerline adapter needs to be plugged into an electrical outlet near your broadband router, whilst the other into an outlet close to the MAG box.

You then pair the two powerline adapters by pressing a button on each, hook up the ethernet cables from the router and MAG box to the adapters and you’re ready to go.

A wired connection with no trailing cables!

Changing Buffer Size

MAG Advanced Settings Buffer Screen

If you’ve ran all the above tests, made changes to your Wi-Fi set up and have even switched to ethernet and are still not seeing any marked improvements, then the only outstanding issue that will be causing picture freezing or buffering is the settings on your MAG box itself.

It’s quite common for users to fiddle with buffer settings without really understanding the implications and actually make the situation worse.

On slower internet connection speeds for example, MAG boxes will understandably need to buffer more data before playing pictures.

Whilst on faster connections, buffering or pre-loading data really isn’t necessary.

If these settings are wrongly configured, it will greatly affect your MAG boxes ability to play content quickly, smoothly and consistently.

So depending on your Wi-Fi or ethernet network and broadband connection speeds, you may need to change your settings.

If your network is fast, you don’t need to buffer much data, if any at all.

But if your network is sluggish, you may need to buffer more data.

Freezing occurs because the MAG set top box hasn’t managed to buffer sufficient data in order to playback the content smoothly.

So we need to make a change to the MAG box buffer size.

If slow channel loading is occurring yet your network speed is fast, then your buffer is clearly set far too high and needs reducing.

In order to make changes to your buffer size, follow these steps:

  • press the left arrow button on your remote and scroll to “Settings” and press “OK”
  • then press the down arrow button to highlight “Advanced Settings” and press “OK”
  • with the left or right arrow buttons, change the buffer length in seconds to suit
  • when done, press “OK” to save your changes

Choosing the correct buffer size is not an exact science, so some experimentation and common sense may be required.

If for example your buffer was set to zero seconds and your internet connection is slow and pictures were freezing, you may have to increase it significantly.

Whilst if your buffer was set high and your internet connection is fairly fast, it probably needs reducing by quite some margin or eliminating altogether.

Experiment with a few options until you find the right balance.

Conclusion

With these fixes you should be able to resolve slow loading or frozen pictures on your MAG set top box.

These fixes can be used on all models including MAG 250, 254, 322 and 410.

There is no way to tell which option will work out best for you, but in most cases one or all of the above fixes should be able to solve your problems.

From then on, you should hopefully be able to watch your favourite programmes without freezing, or without having to wait ages until the channel completes loading.

Should you not manage to solve the issue after having tried all of the above fixes, you may wish to seek expert advice from the manufacturer or product seller.
